Hi, I’m Kate Marie Hellenbeck, the artist behind Mena Marie. I started creating polymer clay earrings and bolo ties in 2020 as a way to stay creative and bring my love for all things tiny to life.
I studied photography at SCAD, where my favorite subjects—then and now—have always been miniatures and fashion. Eventually, those passions came together and inspired me to start Mena Marie.
I’m originally from South Portland, Maine, and now call Austin, Texas home (though I make it back to the Northeast as often as I can). Both places deeply influence my work and creative process.

The name Mena Marie combines my grandmother’s name, Philomena, with my own middle name. She was a bright, funny, and joyful woman, and I try to channel that same spirit into the pieces I make—fun, colorful, and designed to add a little brightness to your wardrobe. Whether it’s earrings, pins, or bolo ties, each piece is made with love and a playful heart. I hope you enjoy them as much as I love creating them.
